He is also capable of playing piano just as well as Eliot. personality; Reo, unlike his master Eliot, is calm and collected. He prefers to do things in his own way, and is more or less Eliot's babysitter: he's the one keeping the young noble in line, correcting or reprimanding him if need be (or, as he says, when Eliot doesn't realize he's crossed the line). He won't necessarily take his master's "side" in an argument, but rather say what he thinks is right. When Eliot comments on this, he replies that if Eliot wants a servant that will blindly agree with him and follow his every order to a T, he should find someone else for the job. Despite this, Reo is very loyal to his master - for example, he is the only one to know about his recurring nightmare. Reo isn't easily agitated, remaining calm no matter what the situation. However, there have been a few instances where he has raised his voice or otherwise nearly lost his calm, most of the time relating to Eliot. For example, when Eliot is feeling unwell, having not slept properly for some time and feeling dizzy and sick about the nightmares he has, making Reo worry for him, or when he stops Eliot from insulting Zai Vessalius in the city of Sabrie. He cares deeply for his master, just like Eliot cares for him - in fact, even though Reo should be his servant, Eliot is usually the one to protect him rather than the other way around, although this might have something to do with the fact that Reo is really hopeless with anything relating to combat. As his appearance suggests, Reo is more of a bookworm - he loves reading and learning (his bed in the dormitory is literally buried underneath a mountain of books!). Despite his calm and rather unchanging exterior, he seems to be rather curious about things around him, such as wanting to find out more about a random snake he encountered outside the school, or what happens next in the thriller he's reading. But even when reading the said thriller, he looks rather indifferent, even when he states that he would never have thought that character X was the murderer all along and doesn't express excitement through anything else than words even though the main character is in a tight spot. Same happens when they've escaped the Baskervilles for the first time and he has shot Lotti - he says that that really gave him a fright and he never thought he would actually hit, but his facial expression or tone don't change much. Although he seems a bit of an airhead, with those glasses that hide half of his face, his disheveled appearance and the kind smile that often decorates his lips, he is quite smart. Like Zai Vessalius said, he is clever and able to read different situations well. He is also very kind and open-minded, his only reason for not turning Oz in for infiltrating their school being that "he did not look like a bad guy." And he seems to like children, especially those in the House of White Angel. timeline; Chapter 42-ish (after the flashback there, that is). |
